Process Modelling with SAP Signavio

The academic edition of SAP Signavio Transformation Suite offers numerous capabilities for process model creation, modelling, version control, and simulation. The graphical editor is a visual process modelling tool that supports common process modelling techniques and conventions. In addition to business process model and notation (BPMN) models, you can create value chain diagrams, use UML, ArchiMate, or DMN, create Petri nets, and much more.

Process Modelling in SAP Signavio in Your Teaching

ESEFA provides access to the SAP Signavio cloud environment for process modelling. A total of up to 1000 students can access the learning environment simultaneously. Lecturers have access to teaching materials, such as ready-to-use presentations, exercises, and case studies that can be used both in teaching and in research projects.

The entire curriculum is available only available in English.

Learning Resources

Access to a web-based SAP Signavio software for students and educators with a wide range of functionality
Sample notes for business process modelling prepared and used by UCT academics are available on request.

Learning Objectives

Master business process modelling with BPMN 2.0 by creating clear, standardised process diagrams for analysis and improvement. Additional Learning Objectives are

Applying Modelling Best Practices
Enable students to model properly due to the large number of anti-patterns and best practices
Collaborating on Process Models
Leverage Signavio’s collaboration tools for sharing and commenting on models to enhance teamwork.
Structuring Models Hierarchically
Use hierarchical modelling to organise and scale complex process diagrams
Validating Models with Simulations and Syntax Checks
Teach students to test and validate models using Signavio’s simulation and syntax validation features.
Exploring Additional Modelling Features
Introduce students to advanced modelling techniques like value chain diagrams, UML, DMN, and Petri nets within Signavio.
