SAP University Alliances Africa - De Wet Naude - SAP UA

Mr De Wet Naude

De Wet joined SAP University Alliances in 2012. He is currently the head of SAP University Alliances / SAP Next-Gen for Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to his current role, he fulfilled the role of Operations Director at SAP Research CEC Pretoria. He has a passion for skills development, education and research, currently focusing strongly on the empowerment of Africa’s Youth through education. He is a firm believer in the SAP UA vision to inspire the next generation – “to love to learn, research and innovate with business applications”.

Previously, he gained substantial experience as consultant in the fields of operations and programme management in multiple corporate and SME environments, among others in the Education, e-Learning, ICT, Financial Services, Public Sector and Fast Moving Consumer Goods. He managed and concluded a number of consulting assignments and consortium projects, related to the disciplines as mentioned above. De Wet Naude obtained an MBA degree from the University of Pretoria in 1996, focusing on project management in Research and Development environments.

SAP University Alliances − Strategy and Future Aspirations - Dr. Katharina Schäfer, SAP SE – University Alliances, VP, Global Head of University Alliances

Dr. Katharina Schäfer

As the Global Head of University Alliances, Dr. Katharina Schäfer leads the SAP Next-Gen program and is responsible for activating academic and research collaborations with high-schools, universities, and research organizations. Her passion is to bridge the gap between academia & industry and provide high quality education to all students worldwide. The SAP Next-Gen program aims to inspire young people about digital technologies, provides a great learning experience about SAP technologies, fosters entrepreneurial & inclusive leadership skills, and builds the next-generation talents for the digital enterprise. Prior to her current role, Dr. Katharina Schäfer worked at the Institute of Aerospace Systems at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, where she also earned her Ph.D. in Aeronautics. After her career journey as a scientist at RWTH, she joined the German Aerospace Center (DLR) as an Assistant to the Member of the Executive Board for Aeronautics. In 2017, she assumed the role of Aerospace & Defense Solution Manager at SAP where she led strategic customer engagement opportunities and drove various co-innovation projects. Dr. Schäfer is member of the Senate of the German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics since 2018.

ESEFA Graduate in Industry- Ashna Dosieah - EY, SAP Consultant, SAP Centre of Excellence, EY Technology Consulting

Ashna Dosieah

Ashna Dosieah is an SAP technology consultant currently working within the Data Insights and Data Science Team within the SAP Centre of Excellence team at EY Mauritius since 2021. She is a graduate from the University of Mauritius with a BSc (Hons) Information Systems and has been able to kickstart her dream career of working in SAP technology at EY Mauritius.

As an SAP Consultant at EY, she has been part of amazing data analytics and business intelligence projects where she garnered hands-on experience on best-in-class technologies such as SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP HANA, SAP BTP, Datasphere. She hopes to inspire other students who share the same passion as her about the world of enterprise systems by sharing her journey so far with EY, UOM and ESEFA.

ERPsim "Gamify your Curriculum with SAP and ERPsim" & "Let’s play ERPsim!”- Sergio De La Cruz, MBA, Business Development Manager, ERPsim Lab, HEC Montréal

Brief Bio:

For the ERPsim Lab at HEC Montréal, Sergio De La Cruz supports the promotion of ERPsim and Cortex solutions to tertiary educational institutions. Mr. De La Cruz contributes to maintain strong relationships with current partners, existing and new customers in the education sector, increasing the visibility, notoriety and quality of the solutions offered by the Lab. Sergio De La Cruz holds an MBA from HEC Montreal, as well as a master's degree from the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in France. He has more than 20 years of experience in business development in companies on a global scale.

Session Overview:

Faculty members using SAP S/4HANA and ERPsim for teaching or research benefit from a dynamic learning platform, creating the perfect setting to introduce concepts and challenges of business processes and information management, change management, information security, auditing, and more. The experience results in increased student motivation to learn concepts at play, better engagement in the form of participation and discussions, higher satisfaction and changed attitude towards ERP, IBP and ABI topics.

In the ERPsim simulation environment, students apply business knowledge to make strategic decisions about their virtual company and input their plans into a real SAP S/4HANA system. While playing the game, the teams put in place a strategy and use analytics tools to understand the impact of their decisions and modify their business plan accordingly.

Neo Mathe has over 17 years of wide-ranging experience in the ICT sector. Having gathered experience in Field Services through helping ,engaging and working on transformational journeys in a number of industries such as Logistics, Financial Services, Telecommunications ,Public Sector and especially Insurance Neo is currently leads a team of Architects and Designers , responsible for: • Leading Innovation across multiple industries in Africa and helping organisations unearth value within their processes • Helping organisations develop compelling business cases for their IT transformation • Evangelism of SAP’s strategy for helping organisations to Run Better & efficiently He has broad experience having worked in consulting, auditing and systems development. He thus has good insight into the soft issues (such as change management & value engineering) that must be addressed for any technological initiative to be successful.

This SAP Academic Alliance strategic process contributes to strengthening business knowledge generation. Besides, it is transversal to research, teaching, and extension in a global mindset context. This experience presents integration, collaboration and cooperation experiences in a Latin America University. Considering the SAP Academic Alliance Networks' innovation contributions to the learning and teaching process. The purpose is to share experiences, best practices, and future lines.

Teaching Case - Nancy J. Jones, CMA, CSCA , SAP certified Instructor

Nancy J. Jones

Nancy has industry experience as a Systems Administrator, Corporate Controller, and Business Consultant. She left “corporate America” to teach full time in Accounting and Information Systems for California State University-Chico in 2005 and in 2013 transferred her skills to San Diego State University where she currently teaches several graduate level courses in accounting information systems and analytics and undergraduate managerial accounting. Known for innovative teaching and curricula development, Nancy is heavily involved in the SAP University Alliances, particularly in the area of data analytics and business intelligence. In 2016 she won the Majdi Najm Outstanding Service Award from the SAP North American University Alliances. In academic year 2017 and 2021 she was awarded the SDSU Fowler College of Business Teaching Excellence Award. She is also a Glazer Teaching Fellow at the Fowler College of Business.

Nancy is extremely sought-after for analytics and accounting information systems presentations, training, and workshops. A self-proclaimed accounting analytics evangelist, Nancy believes that all accountants and finance people, (along with everyone else in business), need to learn to understand the data better.
